(WRCB) - Some showers arrive at the end of the weekend with near-normal to above-normal temperatures through most of the work week.
A low pressure system to our south in the Gulf of Mexico slowly moves in our direction over the next 24 hours. This keeps mostly cloudy skies over the Tennessee Valley Sunday with highs in the upper 70s in the city. Rain showers likely develop this evening into the overnight with the best chances near the city and to the south and east across Georgia and western North Carolina. Lows tonight stay in the mild middle 60s.
Wet weather sticks around for mainly the morning hours Monday as you head back to work and school. Highs reach the upper 70s. High pressure and drier air clear away any leftover clouds Monday night with some areas of fog developing and lows in the upper 50s to 60º.
Tuesday through Thursday feature fair skies with highs in the lower 80s and lows in the lower 60s. Showers could return Friday, drying out by next weekend with highs cooling back to the lower and middle 70s and lows in the 50s.
